Outdoor Education Area
On Friday July 8th we were delighted to welcome 6 members of the family of Mrs Mary Walsh, who served on our school governing body for 35 years. Mary died last year at the age of 89 and following her passing we were approached by the family who wanted to make a donation to the school in Mary’s memory. Following discussion with Mary’s family we agreed to develop an outdoor education area which would support our children in learning more about how things grow. As a result we were able to put the generous donation towards the Polytunnel which has become a major focal point in our school.
Esme, in year 4, thanked the family on behalf of the pupils while Mr Mc Guinness spoke on behalf of the governing body. The family then unveiled a permanent memorial plaque which was blessed by Deacon Paul.
We look forward to this enriching our pupils learning opportunities and pass our sincere thanks to the Walsh family for their kind donation.
