Bewerley Park Group 1 - Day 2

This was a full on Activity Day which was brilliant fun. It consisted of two adventurous activities during the day which were Ghyll Walking and exploring the brilliant rock formations at ‘Brimham Rocks.’ Our children enjoyed both activities and despite being out of their comfort zone at times were able to overcome any concerns by encouraging each other and working as a team.

In the evening we did the ‘Leap of Faith’ and ‘Jacob’s Ladder ‘which were climbing experiences followed by some orienteering which was a fun way to map read while trying to find hidden clues. John, Shea and Matthew scored a fantastic 150 points!

Some quotes from today
‘Brimham Rocks was great because we had to crawl through small holes – we had to work as a group!’ (Reece)
‘The ghyll walk was great – the coldness of the water shocked me a bit but it got warmer and was great fun!’( Corey)
‘ The ‘Giily walk’ was brilliant! We all jumped in the pool and made a huge splash’ (Callum)
‘I really enjoyed the rocks because I didn’t think I could do it but I did- I crawled through small holes and helped my team get on the big rock in 18seconds!’(Gabby)
‘The journey  to the ‘Gilly Walk’ was really nice . There were lots of hills and it was very green – there was no pollution!’ (Thomas)
‘Jumping off the big cliff into the river was great!’( Joe) ***
‘That was brilliant- I felt I was flying through the air!’ ( Lucy)
‘I didn’t think I would be able to do the Leap of Faith but I did !’(Olivia)

Our children have been brilliant today and they have been complimented on by all of the Bewerley Park staff because of their excellent behaviour and their efforts in having a real go at everything they have been asked to try. Well done to all!!
***Mr and Mrs Sung please don’t panic – it wasn’t a cliff and it wasn’t a river … but it was great fun!
