World Cup Opening Ceremony

Our new topic for the second half of Summer term is the world cup. During a special assembly, each class drew 2 teams to follow during the competition - 2AK got England and Honduras, whilst 2JH got Cameroon and Ecuador. After this special assembly, all of KS1 made banners and flags to support their countries and we had a big ceremony on the playground, including a parade to each country's national anthem, reading prayers, a penalty shoot out and the releasing of ceremonial balloons. Over the next few weeks, we will be looking in closer detail at our chosen countries and their geography, the history of the world cup and the science behind sport and fitness. Photos of this momentous ceremony are below.
