The Year of the Rooster

Gong Hey Fat Choy!

(That means happy new year in Cantonese - one of China's main languages)

Saturday 28th January marks the first day of the Chinese new year and there are celebrations all over the weekend in Liverpool - click here to find out more. In Chinese tradition, each year is represented by an animal - this comes from the story of the great race (watch the video below to hear that story). This is the year of the rooster. Legend says that the animal whose year you were born in says a lot about your personality. I was born in the year of the tiger which means I'm brave & strong - super accurate. Below the video is a chart to help you find out which year you were born in. Do you think your animal represents you well?
