Roald Dahl

September is Roald Dahl's birth month so this week we held our own celebrations to mark 101 years since he was born.  Our text this week has been 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' so we decided to base all of our activities around the story.  We love listening to the story whilst drinking our milk.  We began the week by learning about the man behind some of world's most famous stories.  We have also watched clips from the film, 'hot-seated' Charlie, made bookmarks, talked about how special our own families are (Charlie loved his Grandpa Joe) and made family trees.  We even managed to link our maths and science activities to the story too.  We ended the week by making our very own chocolates.
