Minecraft
Year 6 have had a fantastic morning building watchtowers using Minecraft.
The children worked in pairs or groups to decide how much land they would need for their watchtowers, work out the area of the land, calculate the cost of the land, decide on materials and calculate the cost of materials all out of a £700,000 budget.
The children used the Minecraft app to build the towers.
Not only did we utilise our mathematic skills, we fine tuned our communication and team works skills too.
A special thank you to Mrs Dooley and Mrs Nisbet for planning and leading a fantastic activity.
I think we have some future engineers, designers, quantity surveys, project managers and builders in our year 6 classes.
