Measuring Length

In maths it's measuring week. Today we have been investigating some of the different units that we measure length/distance in (mm, cm and km). We have also talked about what we would use each different unit for (for example, measuring tiny things like lengths of ladybirds, longer things like pencils, the height of trees and the distance to town). Focusing on centimetres and metres, we measured some things around the classroom with rulers and metre tapes. We also measured both playgrounds with a trundle wheel - can you think what units we might have used to measure them in?
