Makaton

For European day of Languages 2018, Year 3 learnt Makaton! 

In our classes, we discussed where Makaton originated from, what it is (a mix of signs, symbols and speech) and why it is important to use it. We all listened to and performed nursery rhymes such as 'row, row, row your boat' and 'round and round the garden' that incorporated Makaton and learnt simple signs such as good morning, hello and goodbye.

We also learnt how to say our names in Makaton and watched a 'Makaton carpool karaoke' for the song 'This is Me' from the Greatest Showman.
