Local Area Walk

During our Buildings topic, we are learning about houses 'then' and 'now'.  Today, we went for a walk around our local area to see how many different types of houses we could find and we also talked about the materials that they are made from.  We completed observations sheets and spotted much more than just houses.  We saw detached houses, semi-detached houses, terraced houses and flats.  We even stopped to look at and talk about St. Austin's church. We spotted telephone boxes, postboxes, street signs and bus stops.   The weather was lovely and we stayed out all afternoon!  Have a look at the photographs and decide which building is your favourite.  Miss Barrett loves the Georgian Terraces on Garston Old Road.

Thank you again to the parents who made our walk possible.
