Litres and Millilitres

Today we talked about and looked at the capacity of a various containers. We learned that we use litres and millilitres to measure liquids.

Mrs Kelly poured a litre over two pupils (they were holding umbrellas!) to see what a litre looked like.

We then had 1 millilitre of water squirted on our heads and we held a millilitre of water in our hands.

1000 millilitres = 1 litre

Have a look around your houses to see what is measured in litres or millilitres. Make sure you do this with your parents!
