After a discussion about the picture we set up our own investigation to see which material would stop the snowman from melting.
We covered the snowmen in either tin foil, cling film, vivelle (art material) or cotton wool and left one with no material at all. To make sure it was a fair test we used the same size snowmen, the same size pieces of material and we left them in the same place in class.
We were amazed to find out that the snowman covered in cotton wool had hardly melted by the end of the day! Chloe wrote, 'This is because the cotton wool keeps the cold in and the heat out so the snowman didn't melt'.
Have a look at our pictures!
