History - Museum of Liverpool
As part of our History topic, we headed to the Museum of Liverpool where we got to explore toys 'old' and 'new'. Our session on Toys began with us considering our favourite toys and then we about chronology as we investigated the toys timeline in the History Detectives gallery. We talked about the differences in the materials, design and technology used and how these provide clues about the age of the toys. Then we moved into the Education Room where we had a chance to examine and play with toys that our parents, grandparents and great grandparents might have played with. After that, we spent time looking around the museum and we completed the 'Toys Trail' booklet. At the end of the day, we managed to fit in a quick sing-song in the Karaoke booth. At one point, the whole class got inside the booth and we had fun singing along to 'Yellow Submarine'. We learnt lots, laughed lots and walked lots which meant some of us were so tired on the journey home that we fell asleep.
Thank you to all the parent helpers, we couldn't have gone without you.
