Flamenco Dancing

Our first proper taste of Hispanic dance this week was Flamenco. Flamenco is a traditional Spanish dance which people have done for many years. First we learned some basic steps, going side to side and then we started learning how to move our hands (just like picking oranges!). We finished off each bit with 3 stamps and a clap. At the end of the dance we all shouted Olé! (By Lucy and Daniel)

Flamenco is a style of traditional Spanish dance and today, Gaynor taught us the basic moves.  She named the moves to help us remember them.  Gaynor taught us, 'Eagle', 'Bolero', 'Picking Oranges' and many more. We did lots of clapping and stamping too.  We finished our performance by striking a highlight pose and shouting, "Olé!"  (By Eva and Shaun)
