European Day of Languages

Old MacDonald en Français | French Nursery Rhymes

Why do pigs "oink, oink" in English, "boo, boo" in Japanese and "nöff-nöff" in Swedish?

Today was 'European Day of Languages' and we had a great time exploring the above question.  We started the day by looking at a map of Europe and we decided we would like to learn about France.  We found France on the map and then used the internet and books to find answers to some of the questions we had.  Later on, we made animal masks whilst listening to 'Old MacDonald Had A Farm' in French.  We had lots of fun performing the nursery rhyme and mimicking the animal noises.
