Buenos dias! It is Hispanic week in school and our first workshop was all about Afro-Peruvian music. We learned about the geography of Peru and had a look at some traditional instruments from different regions. We explored some of the instruments, such as the cajón (a box-like drum which you sit on), the cajita (a small box which you hit with a stick) and most interesting of all - the quijada - the jaw bone of a donkey! We then played some music in groups and ended the session with a traditional dance.
