For European Day of Languages, every year group in school was assigned a city in Spain to study. In year 2, we were given the city of Valencia. We all came to school dressed in the Valencian colours
(red, yellow and blue) and thorughout
the day we took part in lots of activities based on
We studied some of the beautiful buildings in Valencia and made a collage of the features which we liked the most. After that, we designed clay tiles based on a section of our collage
. As Valencia is famous for it's
oranges and orange juice, we had a go at squeezing our own and it was quite hard work; lots of effort for very little juice! Finally, in the afternoon we had some special visitors from La Tasca
Spanish restaurant who came in and cooked some delicious Paella for us all. Can you remember the recipe?
Have a look at some of the things we learned about Valencia below;
