This morning we were lucky enough to have a Spanish cookery class. Chef taught us how to make empanadas (a pastry popular in Hispanic countries) with a patatas bravas filling (potatoes in a delicious, tomato sauce). We combined margarine and flour to make the pastry, then carefully rolled it out flat. We used cutters to cut out circles and spooned a little of the potato mixture into the middle. Finally we folded them in half, pinched the edges together and brushed them with milk. Chef then baked them in the oven for us to enjoy later in the day.
