Today we introduced a brand new 'event' called a collision. This allows us to make things happen when two objects crash into each other. We used this as part of our algorithms to make objects disappear when a character 'ate' or 'collected' them. To make the programs into games, we used the 'when key' event from last week to teach the computer how to move the player. Some children went a step further and added sound effects which play when the player collides with an object. Sorry, these ones won't work on tablets.
Use the arrow keys to move our characters around and try to collect all of the objects... some children have programmed a stop button (space bar) in case the action is a bit too fast paced for you.
