During the Autumn term all of the children in Year 6 will get an opportunity to visit the Carmelite Monastery in Allerton. The first group visited the monastery last week and met with Sister Mary of The Incarnation. We had a lovely afternoon learning about Sister Mary's vocation to be a nun. She told us all about daily life in the monastery and the vows all of the nuns take.
We shared prayers together and even sang some songs! We were also lucky enough to look around the beautiful chapel where the nuns have several services a day. All of the children commented on what a tranquil place the monastery was, and we all felt very calm and peaceful during and after the visit.
Sister Mary said she will keep all of our children in her heart and pray for us, and she asked if we could do the same for her in our prayers at school.
