Do you know how long a marathon is and how the race got its name?  It’s quite a sad story.  When King Darius of Persia attacked Greece a man called Pheidippides was chosen to run to Sparta to ask for more soldiers but no-one could come.  So he ran back to the battle at Marathon and fought hard.  The Greeks won so he ran 26 miles back to Athens with the good news and…
